Trump’s security operation in Israel will include 10,000 policeThe Israel Police is preparing for U.S. President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to the country. 10,000 police officers from around the country will participate in the special security operation to protect the U.S. president.
U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to land in Israel next Monday for a 2-day trip. During his stay in Israel, 10,000 Israeli police officers from across the country will be tasked with protecting him, according to Walla. The security operation, which has been codenamed “Blue Shield,” will be supervised by Israel Police Chief Roni Alsheikh.
After he lands at Israel’s Ben-Gurion Airport, Trump will fly to Jerusalem via helicopter. However, if bad weather or other complications prevent him from flying to Jerusalem, 2,000 Israel Border Police officers will be deployed to Highway 1 in order to secure it for his motorcade.
During his visit, the president is expected to visit Yad Vashem, the Western Wall and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. He will also conduct formal meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli President Reuven Rivlin.
As reported on Saturday evening by JOL, the U.S. airlift has already begun to land at Ben-Gurion Airport. About 30 C-17 American transport planes will arrive in total, bringing with them hundreds of tons of equipment, cars and people to facilitate the presidential visit.
