An Israeli trekker is missing in Kyrgyzstan after all contact with her was lost during a trek. The Israeli, a 22-year-old, disappeared yesterday while trekking with another Israeli and two French travelers. They lost contact with her while two of the trekkers were assisting the third after a serious fall. They alerted the rescue services that then transferred them to a nearby village.
Israeli insurance rescue teams are working with the local authorities in order to track down the missing woman. According to Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Israeli consul in Astana, Kazakhstan, is also in contact with the rescue teams. Two weeks ago, five Israelis were rescued after being stranded on a mountain for four days in Mongolia.
