Authorities in the US are considering expanding the ban on bringing large electronic devices onto flights from Africa and the Middle East. According to a report on CBS, the ban will also include flights out of Europe, which could affect flights from Israel. The initial ban was publicized two months ago and a US government official explained then that the instruction was made as a result of a non-specific terror alert.

Sources from US Homeland Security stated that the prohibition expansion’s benefits outweigh its disadvantages and the disruptions that it could cause. Furthermore, a final decision will be made within the next few weeks following a number of meetings with US airlines.
