David Friedman approved by Senate Foreign Relations Committee as US Ambassador to Israel

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved the appointment of David Friedman as US Ambassador to Israel. 12 members voted in favor of the appointment while 9 voted against.

Today (Thursday), David Friedman was approved as US Ambassador to Israel by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The members of the committee voted 12 in favor and 9 against.

As expected, the Democrats opposed Friedman’s appointment due to his support of settlements in the West Bank and his statements against liberal organizations in the US. Now, the appointment must be approved by the senate plenum.
