23-year-old Israeli killed in accident while traveling in India23-year-old Yotam Tzafrani from Northern Israel was killed in a motorcycle accident in Vapi, India. He was evacuated to a hospital where he died of his wounds. The Israeli Foreign Affairs Ministry is assisting the family in the retrieval of his body.
During his travels in India, Yotam Tzafrani, a 23-year-old from Kiryat Shmona, was killed in a motorcycle accident in the city of Vapi located in western India. His condition was critical when he was transported to a local hospital where all efforts to save his life were unsuccessful. The Israeli Foreign Affairs Ministry stated that the Department for Overseas Israelis and the Israeli Consul General to India are helping the family make the arrangements to return Tzafrani's body home.
Tzafrani, originally from Kiryat Shmona, moved recently to Kibbutz Lehavot HaBashan. His mother, Ilanit, received the news of her son's death in Tel Mond where she has been staying this past month with her eldest son.

Kiryat Shmona’s mayor sent his condolences to the family and called for all resources and support to be provided to them during this time.
A month ago, 56-year-old Israeli Ariel Freeman was killed in northern India after falling into a river while trekking in the Himalaya Mountains. Freeman was hiking with his wife, sons and another couple when he fell. They were forced to continue hiking further to reach an area with cellular reception to call for help.
