Israeli wins award at MTV Video Music Awards

Israelis Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia directed Coldplay’s successful music video Up&Up, winning the Best Visual Effects Award. The couple won one of the only awards that Beyonce did not take home.

Last night, the MTV Video Music Awards took place. Beyonce stole the show and Rihanna received a lot of respect throughout the night. Amongst the winners one could also find the Israeli film directors- Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia. The two Israelis who directed Coldplay’s Up&Up won the Best Visual Effects Award.

Heymann will share the award with GloriaFX, the company responsible for the videos' amazing effects. Coldplay’s music video, which already has more than 75 million views, beat a number of top artists such as Adele, The Weeknd, FKA Twigs and Zayn. Heymann and Muggia were also candidates for the Best Director Award, which Beyonce’s music video “Formation” won.
