Israel's Culture Minister Miri Regev on Wednesday stepped onto the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in France wearing a dress that made more of a political statement than a fashion one.

The bottom part of Regev's dress featured the entire Jerusalem Old City skyline, including the Western Wall, clearly alluding to UNESCO's recent decision to disavow Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem.

On Monday, Channel 2 News reported that a senior-level White House official had said the Western Wall was part of the West Bank and not Israeli territory.
