Accusations concerning reports about the chemical weapons attack in Syria continue, but Russia claims that it is unable to determine whether or not Bashar al-Assad’s army utilized chemical weapons against civilians and the rebels. Russian President Vladimir Putin even scolded Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today (Thursday) during a phone conversation on the matter: “The baseless accusations are unacceptable.”

According to the RIA media outlet, Putin urged Netanyahu to wait before making allegations about the subject “until a comprehensive investigation is conducted.”

“When I saw pictures of babies suffocating from a chemical attack in Syria, I was shocked and outraged,” Netanyahu stated two days ago, following reports concerning the airstrike in which dozens of people were killed in Idlib. “There’s no, none, no excuse whatsoever for the deliberate attacks on civilians and on children, especially with cruel and outlawed chemical weapons.”

“I call on the international community to fulfill its obligation from 2013 to fully and finally remove these horrible weapons from Syria,” Netanyahu added.
