According to the FBI, a former Israeli citizen residing in Oklahoma attempted to hire a hitman to assassinate her ex-husband.

Danielle Layman has been living in Ponca City, Oklahoma, for several years already. Layman published an advertisement on Craigslist asking for the services of an actor. When the man arrived at her house, she gave him 2 vials filled with deadly Ricin poison and told him that if he didn’t follow her exact instructions, he would also be murdered.

She asked the man to fly to Israel and to poison her ex-husband, a taxi driver, with a cup of coffee. She instructed him to offer the driver the cup of poisoned coffee when he picked him up from the airport and to report to her if he started feeling ill, whether he vomited or if he didn’t come to pick him up at all. In addition, Layman told the actor that if asked by authorities about the powder, tell them that it is a sacred substance supposed to keep evil spirits away. He would be given 1,000 dollars for his stay expenses in Israel.

“I just think it's crazy,” said neighbor Joey Hunt. “It takes a really messed up person to want to do something like that. It’s amazing how it's happening in such a small town like our Ponca City.”

Approximately 3 years ago, Leyman started a crowdfunding project on GoFundMe and attempted to raise 20 thousand dollars to fight her ex-husband. She claimed that her 13-year-old daughter wasn’t able to leave Israel after her divorce exercised the power of the Rabbinical Court, despite the fact that she was officially adopted by Leyman’s current husband, an American citizen.
