US ambassador to UN: Stop with Israel- Iran, Hezbollah and Assad are the real dangerUS Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley initiated today’s Security Council meeting about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, hoping to hear the perspectives from both sides.
The United Nations Security Council is meeting today (Thursday) to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with a particular emphasis on the "Palestinian issue." Today’s meeting is part of an ongoing session held every quarter. This time, the forum took place at the request of US representative to the UN Nikki Haley. Haley said that the US believes that peace between Israel and the Palestinians is attainable and can only be reached through direct talks.
In her speech, Haley condemned the bias against Israel in the UN Security Council. She said that the discussions at the UNSC are turning into a platform to attack Israel. She added that such talks do not contribute to the region and do not advance peace. Haley noted that Iran and Hezbollah are the major factors undermining the stability in the Middle East and supporting the Assad regime.

Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon praised Haley's performance as head of the committee. He said that Israel appreciates America’s moral standpoint as well as the country’s insistence on discussing the real reasons for instability in the region. Danon added that Iran is the only state in the Middle East stirring up chaos, spreading bloodshed and encouraging terrorism. Danon also stated that Israel is a partner in the struggle against terrorism and a beacon of hope while Iran is initiating the horrors that take place in Syria every day.
On Israel’s security, Danon said that Hamas is leading the world towards the next confrontation. Danon said that the terrorist organization in Gaza is increasing its arsenal of missiles, continuing to call for the destruction of Israel and persistently digging tunnels.
Danon suggested that the chance for real peace will only come when the Palestinians stop the terror, fight incitement and return to the negotiating table. He said that unilateral decisions made by the UNSC will not help.
Palestinian Authority envoy Riyad Mansour responded that the aspiration of the Palestinian leadership was to see two peoples living side by side in peace while the Palestinian people work towards internal unity.
