US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin lands in Israel on Middle East tour

On Thursday, US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin landed in Israel for a short visit. While in Israel, Mnuchin will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and visit the Yad Vashem museum in Jerusalem.

US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin arrived in Israel on Thursday after visiting Saudi Arabia. He was greeted at the airport by US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman and his wife Tammy.

During his stay in Israel, Mnuchin, who is Jewish, will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon. He will also visit the Yad Vashem museum.

On Friday, he will fly to the United Arab Emirates. Prior to landing in Israel, Mnuchin was in Saudi Arabia, where he met with members of the kingdom’s royal family. According to the US Treasury Department, Mnuchin thanked Saudi Arabia for hosting the Terrorist Finance Targeting Center and “underscored the importance of Saudi leadership in countering illicit finance” during his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. “The Secretary welcomed the close collaboration between the two countries in order to combat terrorist financing,” the department added.
