Trump’s plans for his 28-hour visit in Israel revealed
White House aide: Trump will only decide on embassy move after Israel visitA White House aide claimed today that U.S. President Donald Trump has not yet decided whether to move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. He said that the president will only decide after his trip to Israel next week.
Just a few days before U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to Israel, the news reports about the U.S. moving its embassy to Jerusalem continue to surface. A U.S. aide clarified on Thursday that “despite the reports, President Trump has not yet made a decision regarding the embassy move to Jerusalem.”
The aide added that Trump “doesn’t plan to make a decision about the issue until after his trip,” just a few days before the U.S. president will need to decide whether to sign the presidential waiver keeping the embassy in Tel Aviv, citing national security interests.
Earlier today, JerusalemOnline reported that a White House official told Bloomberg that Trump has decided not to move the embassy to Jerusalem for now. “We don’t think it would be wise to do it at this time,” he said. “We’re not looking to provoke anyone.”
