WikiLeaks released this evening (Monday) approximately 2,000 new documents that include email conversations between Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and her aides. The email conversations, which were leaked today two days after a similar incident, reveal among other things the good personal and professional relationship between Clinton and Netanyahu.

In one of the email conversations, Stuart Eizenstat, one of Clinton’s top aides, describes a meeting he had with a senior level Israeli official who is close to Netanyahu. Eizenstat discussed with the Israeli official the defense aid deal between the US and Israel. According to Eizenstat, Netanyahu’s close associate said that “the biggest issue is the amount of money.”

“The Israeli Embassy is not going around the administration to lobby for a higher figure, although they could probably get it,” Eizenstat wrote. “But if the figure is too low, they will wait until the next president.”

In the same email, Eizenstat said that the senior level Israeli official said that Netanyahu has always had a “surprising good relationship with Hillary.” Eizenstat wrote that the Israeli official said that Netanyahu believes that Clinton is easy to work with and “that she is more instinctively sympathetic to Israel than the White House.”
