23-year-old Petah Tikva resident Sarit Pafta collapsed earlier this week in a Mumbai hotel room. Hours later, she was pronounced dead. At the moment, the cause of her death is still unclear. The Israeli Foreign Affairs Ministry is waiting to receive the results of the autopsy and preparing to bring the young Israeli’s body back to the country.
Pafta was in India with her boyfriend on a trip. When the news of Pafta’s death became official, the young Israeli’s mother eulogized her: “My queen traveled to India on a trip with her boyfriend and didn’t come back. We are shocked and in pain. We don’t know what happened and why she died.”

The news of Pafta’s death came as a shock to her friends as well. “How can [we] even start to grasp it?” Aviv, a close friend of Pafta, said. “She was amazing and she will remain amazing. She was the best friend possible.”
