On Wednesday, El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. announced the relaunch of its direct Tel Aviv-Miami flight planned to take effect in November. El Al will fly the route three times per week with a Boeing 777-200 aircraft.

The move comes several years after El Al canceled its service to Miami in September 2008. Now, the Tel Aviv-Miami route will become El Al’s first in the southeastern US its sixth nonstop route in North America, while the others include Toronto, Boston, LA and New York (John F. Kennedy International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport).

“This decision is part… of the strategy in which we recognized the importance of the trans-Atlantic routes and our desire on expanding El Al’s presence in North America,” stated El Al CEO David Maimon.
