After the Passover holiday is over and children return to school throughout Israel, the official start of beach season in Tel Aviv will be marked on April 27. Every year, over 8 million people visit the city’s white sandy beaches.
Each of Tel Aviv’s 13 beautiful beaches has its own distinct character. For example, Gordon Beach is known as a great spot for beach volleyball. The city’s Hilton Beach is popular hangout area for the LGBTQ community and attracts thrill-seekers who are looking to wind or kite surf. Geula Beach has a more relaxed, less crowded vibe. Religious communities often gather at Nordau Beach, which offers separate days for men’s and women’s swimming.
At the promenade in Old Jaffa, the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality has placed an oversized photo frame for tourists to snap some cute pictures. The frame includes a spectacular view of the sea and the coastline and visitors are encouraged to take a unique photo and share it on social media.
