Today (Tuesday), Israeli President Reuven Rivlin presented excellence awards to 10 Shin Bet employees at a special ceremony held at the President’s official residence. During the ceremony, Rivlin congratulated them and thanked them for their service: “Your devotion, courage and innovation are hidden from the eyes of the public, who knows that even if it never sees your face or knows your name, it owes you a huge debt.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Shin Bet Chief Nadav Argaman were present at the ceremony. Among the employees who received the certificates were: A cyber expert who initiated and managed breakthrough operations, a counter-strike desk director who led a unique team of analysts and a field coordinator who operates important agents.

“The security tasks that are central to this service are the most complex and sensitive tasks in the State of Israel and in its defense establishment,” Rivlin continued. “These tasks are extraordinary in their complexities. They require determination, boldness and unrelenting action even in the face of public and self-criticism.”

Netanyahu also congratulated the outstanding employees and thanked them for their dedication. “The Shin Bet is one of the foundations of our security,” he said. “Thanks to you, we are defeating terrorism. Over the past year and a half, you have done a tremendous job that saved many lives – thank you very much on behalf of the citizens of Israel.”
