A suicide truck bomb exploded at a checkpoint in Baghdad on Wednesday, killing at least 15 people and injuring dozens more, according to Iraqi officials.
The suicide bomber detonated the explosives in his vehicle as he waited along with other cars for the police inspection. At least three police officers are among the dead. No terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. However, there is a possibility that the deadly suicide bombing was carried out by an ISIS terrorist since the murderous terrorist group has carried out similar attacks in the area recently.
In recent weeks, ISIS has lost considerable ground in Mosul as the Iraqi forces backed by the U.S.-led coalition progress in their plan to recapture the city. In 2014, ISIS took control over the second-largest Iraqi city and about two years later, the Iraqi Army launched the Mosul offensive in order to retake the city.
