About a month after the deadly terror attack at Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate, two suspects will be indicted today for causing death by negligence due to the assistance they provided to the terrorists shortly before the attack. “Anyone who drives illegal Palestinian aliens into Israeli territory should know and expect that among them there could be a terrorist who wants to carry out a terror attack,” clarified the Israel Police.
Watch: Police operations following terror attack
On Wednesday, the Jerusalem District Prosecution will file serious indictments against an East Jerusalem resident and a West Bank resident who drove the three terrorists who carried out the coordinated terror attack at Damascus Gate last month, accusing them of causing death by negligence. In the terror attack, 23-year-old Israel Border Police officer Hadas Malka was murdered.
The Israel Police stated that the serious charges are to be brought against the two in order to show that “anyone who drives illegal Palestinian aliens into Israeli territory should know and expect that among them there could be a terrorist who wants to carry out a terror attack.” This is why the Israel Police is claiming that “on some level, they are part of the terror attack and its grave outcomes.”

This is not the first time that the people who transported terrorists in Israel have been indicted for causing death by negligence. The people who drove the terrorists who murdered Israel Border Police officer Hadar Cohen and the terrorist who murdered an American citizen in Yafo were also indicted for the same offense. In these cases, although the drivers were neither acquainted with the terrorists nor aware of their intentions, they were still accused of the serious crime.
Shortly after the Damascus Gate terror attack in June, police officers arrested a 52-year-old Isawiya resident who was suspected of transporting the terrorists to Jerusalem. During the investigation, it was discovered that the suspect drove several Palestinians who do not possess entry permits, including the three terrorists, from the Ramallah area into Jerusalem. The day after arriving in Jerusalem, the terrorists carried out the attack. About three weeks ago, a West Bank resident was arrested for organizing the group of illegal Palestinian aliens who rode in the Isawiya resident’s car.
