Today (Sunday), firefighting teams working at the scene of the Oakland, California fire found 24 bodies. According to officials, the death toll is expected to rise and reach approximately 40 people. Search and rescue efforts continue.

According to senior-level officials in the local fire department, there were 30-70 people in the club when the fire started and they are still trying to locate everyone who was present. The reason for the fire is still unknown.

Many artists were living in the warehouse without a residence license. The electronic dance party was also held without a permit. The building did not have smoke detectors or sprinklers and the roof collapsed as a result of the fire.
