The Israeli State Attorney’s office filed today (Thursday) an indictment against three Tayibe residents, accusing them of various state security offenses such as joining ISIS and smuggling weapons. They are also accused of conspiring to dig a tunnel from Northeast Tayibe to the West Bank under the security barrier.
The three, Amir a-Hakim Hafez Gahrah (20), Muhammad Tami a-Khader Nashaf (32) and Ibrahim a-Khalim Mahmoud Sheikh (26), were accused after the Shin Bet and the Main Police Unit for the Central District finished their investigation. They are accused of being members of a terror organization, conspiring to commit a crime with hostility towards the public, trespassing in order to commit a crime against the public, arson and more. The indictment states that the three pledged their allegiance to ISIS and its leader.

The indictment also states that during October 2015, Amir and Ibrahim conspired to dig a 3-kilometer long tunnel from Northeast Tayibe to the village of Herbat Gebara in the West Bank.
They are accused of planning to dig this tunnel in order to smuggle weapons and Palestinian terrorists into Israel.
The two had been digging the tunnel for two months but then, after they had already dug 4 meters deep into the ground, they suspected that the IDF discovered the tunnel and is planning to ambush them. They stopped digging for a while and began to scout the area. Later, they returned to their plans.
The three are also accused of conspiring to break into and set on fire Tayibe’s local stadium. In addition, they are accused of attempting to violently thwart the performance of an Arab singer from Lebanon for religious reasons.
Tayibe is a big Israeli-Arab city near the West Bank, 10 minutes from Kfar Saba.
