Hamas stated on Saturday that five of the 16 people who were killed in yesterday’s border clashes in Gaza were members of its armed wing. “The blood of our martyrs was not spilled in vain,” the terrorist group said in a statement. “The enemy will pay the price for this.”
Meanwhile, hundreds of people gathered today to attend the funerals of those who were killed during yesterday’s massive “March of Return.” Aside from the 16 who were killed, over 1,000 people were injured.

Earlier today, the IDF warned that if the violence continues, it would expand its response. According to IDF spokesperson Ronen Manelis, the military’s response so far has been limited to the protesters who try to breach the border fence but the IDF will not hesitate to attack terrorists “in other places” if the attempts continue. Manelis added that all of the Palestinians who were killed yesterday were involved in the violence and attempts to tamper with the border fence.
On Saturday afternoon, Palestinian media outlets claim that some 200 people gathered near the border to continue yesterday’s protests. The reports state that IDF troops fired at the protesters near Khan Yunis, injuring two people.
