Over 400 Hamas rockets had been launched toward Southern Israel since yesterday. Seventy percent of the rockets landed in open fields, and the Iron Dome took out a majority of the 30 percent that reached populated areas. Several Hamas rockets hit homes, and school courtyards that were luckily vacated beforehand.

The IDF has responded by hitting 200 strategic targets in Gaza including an underground arms factory, cross border attack tunnel, and a Hamas’s military intelligence headquarters.

This morning Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the IDF to continue attacking Gaza.

“I instructed the IDF to continue the massive attacks against the terrorist elements and the large number of armored, artillery and infantry forces around the Strip,” Netanyahu said. “Hamas bears responsibility for its actions, but also for the activities of the Islamic Jihad and pays a very heavy price.”

“On behalf of all the citizens of Israel, I wish to send condolences to the family of Moshe Agadi, a father of four who was murdered by a rocket in Ashkelon. At this difficult hour, I would like to strengthen his family and wish for speedy and complete recovery for the wounded. May his memory be blessed,” said Netanyahu.

According to reports the IDF’s 7th Tank Brigade has been deployed to the area.
