According to Gabi Laski, the lawyer representing Ahed Tamimi, one of the IDF interrogators made inappropriate remarks and gestures while questioning her client.

The lawyer representing Ahed Tamimi, a teenage Palestinian girl jailed in Israel for assaulting an IDF soldier, claims one of the army officers who questioned her client behaved in a way that bordered on sexual harassment.

Attorney Gabi Laski says a video of the questioning session shows a number of occasions in which the officer allegedly behaved inappropriately, including making remarks about Tamimi’s physical appearance, spreading his legs in front of her and putting his face close to her chest.

Laski also claimed that the officer had “illegally” threatened Tamimi that more of her family members would be summoned for questioning if she continued to stay silent.

Although a complaint was filed in January, Laski said nothing has been done yet. “This goes to show that the Israeli legal system violates the rights of Palestinian minors,” she added.
