Manchester is still attempting to recover from the horrific terror attack that occurred in the city last week, in which 22 people were murdered and dozens more were injured. On Sunday, a charity and solidarity concert will be held and today (Tuesday) Ariana Grande announced that she will be the lead performer. Alongside Grande, other stars such as Coldplay and Katy Perry will perform. Grande’s return to Manchester is expected to be quite emotional, as the terror attack occurred after her concert and targeted her fans.
The concert will be called “One Love to Manchester” and will be held at Old Trafford Stadium. The proceeds will go towards the city’s emergency fund and the British Red Cross.
Following the terror attack, Grande wrote a message: “Our response to this violence must be to come closer together, to help each other, to love more, to sing louder and to live more kindly and generously than we did before.”
