Two attacks took place Friday night in Brussels, Belgium, and in London near Buckingham Palace. Both suspects attacked security personnel and shouted “Allahu Akbar.”

A suspect in his 30s attacked two soldiers with a knife in Brussels Friday night and was immediately shot by the soldiers and critically wounded.

Belgian news outlets reported that the terrorist shouted “Allahu Akbar” while attacking. However, Belgian police said that the man had no previous affiliations to any terror organizations.

A short while after the incident, UK media outlets reported a similar terror attack by a suspect near Buckingham Palace, and today, UK counter-terrorism police released additional details about the attack.

According to the police, the suspect rammed into a police vehicle that was near Buckingham Palace and then proceeded to attack police officers with a long sword while shouting “Allahu Akbar.”

“The officers acted very quickly to detain him,” the police’s official statement said. “During a struggle the three officers sustained minor injuries. The man, who repeatedly shouted Allahu Akbar, was incapacitated with CS spray.”
