Unlimited books and magazines, 20 TV channels and air conditioning are just three of the 19 conditions listed in Marwan Barghouti’s letter to the Israel Prison Service in order to end the hunger strike. The Israel Prison Service explained that it would not accept the conditions.

Fatah leader Marwan Barghouti, who is leading the security prisoners’ hunger strike, sent a letter to Israel Prison Service Commissioner Ofra Kalinger containing a list of terms that must be followed in order to call off the hunger strike. The letter, which was written in Hebrew and dictated by Barghouti to another prisoner, includes 19 conditions.
Among the conditions listed by Barghouti are adding 20 new TV channels for the prisoners, unlimited books and magazines and installing air conditioners within the prisons. Barghouti also demanded to expand the prisoners’ commissary options and to extend the time with open prison wings to 10 PM in the summer.
