Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he has established a team that will recommend ways to more efficiently update and inform Security Cabinet ministers, while better protecting the top-secret information to which the ministers are exposed. However, Ha-Bayit Ha-Yehudi does not seem to be satisfied: “No spin of the Prime Minister will save lives.”

For the past several days, Education Minister Naftali Bennett has threatened that his political party members will oppose MK Avigdor Lieberman’s appointment if their demands regarding the Security Cabinet are not met. In response to his threats, Netanyahu said that he will fire Bennett if he continues to make threats. However, this morning (Friday), Netanyahu announced that he has appointed a team that will recommend ways to update and inform Security Cabinet ministers, while better protecting the top-secret information to which the ministers are exposed. The team will also investigate how the ministers can be better prepared for the Security Cabinet meetings.
The team is headed by former National Security Advisor of Israel Yaakov Amidror. Members of the team will include Netanyahu’s former military secretary Yohanan Locker and former legal advisor to Israel’s security forces and director of the Foreign Affairs Ministry Yossef Zachnover. The team will present its recommendations within the next three weeks.
However, Ha-Bayit Ha-Yehudi did not welcome this initiative and continued to attack Netanyahu: “No spin of the Prime Minister will save lives.” Ha-Bayit Ha-Yehudi also criticized the team and called it “another insignificant committee.”
