Ha-Bayit Ha-Yehudi chairman and Education Minister Naftali Bennett continues to stand by his demand to appoint a special military secretary to the Security Cabinet. “We demand that the Security Cabinet members receive materials and go out into the field,” wrote Bennett on his Facebook page.

Today (Sunday), Bennett reiterated his demand for appointing a special military secretary in order to update Security Cabinet members at least once a week. “Our demand is simple- that the Security Cabinet stop being blind,” wrote Bennett on his Facebook page. “That they receive a complete picture, not a censored one, of all fronts.” He also added that Security Cabinet ministers need to “be trained” and receive all the relevant materials before every discussion.
Throughout last week, Bennett clarified that if this demand is not met, the Ha-Bayit Ha-Yehudi MKs will vote against MK Avigdor Lieberman’s appointment as Defense Minister: “This is a precondition for Ha-Bayit Ha-Yehudi to approve the recent changes in the government,” Bennett informed his party members last week.
“The Security Cabinet is deliberately blind. The Security Cabinet members are deprived of important information consistently,” said Bennett. For instance, Bennett explained, the Security Cabinet members were not informed of the existence of tunnels penetrating into Israel during the two years prior to Operation Protective Edge.
