Today (Friday), Ha-Bayit Ha-Yehudi leader Naftali Bennett sent a message to his political party members. In the message, Bennett harshly attacked Netanyahu’s decision to form a committee that will recommend possible ways to update the Security Cabinet ministers. “A minute before the Prime Minister went to the press with his announcement about ‘establishing a committee,’ they called to inform me,” wrote Bennett in the message. “There’s nothing there. We are fed up with committees.”

“The Locker Committee, which was appointed by the Prime Minister, operated for a year and the report was buried and never discussed,” added Bennett. “We lost soldiers because Security Cabinet ministers were neutralized. I came into politics after the Second Lebanon War precisely in order to prevent the reoccurrence of this.”

“I will not allow soldiers to die because the Security Cabinet is deliberately blind due to someone’s ego,” clarified Bennett. He also said that during the past two and a half years, he turned to Netanyahu about this issue quietly but never received an answer. “As it is forbidden to cover the eyes of a bus driver, it is forbidden to cover the eyes of the Security Cabinet. Both put human lives at risk. Therefore, our demand remains intact,” continued Bennett, who concluded by saying: “I am willing to be flexible and continue to respect the Prime Minister in every way, as long as we fix the Security Cabinet already.”
