Israeli security forces noticed a Palestinian teenager who was brandishing a knife and approaching a security checkpoint near the Cave of Patriarchs in Hebron on Wednesday. He was arrested and taken in for questioning.

Israeli Border Police forces arrested a Palestinian youth who approached them near the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron in the West Bank on Wednesday. The Palestinian had a knife in his possession.

The suspect, a 17-year-old resident of Hebron, was taken into questioning. His motives are being investigated.

“Border Police officers noticed a Palestinian who approached one of the checkpoints by the Cave of Patriarchs while holding a knife,” said the Border Police’s spokesperson in a statement. “The officers who noticed the suspect holding the knife pointed their firearms at him and instructed him to drop the knife and then made the arrest.”
