An explosion occurred Friday on a District Line tube train in London, wounding several people. Police say the incident was a terrorist attack. Train services have been suspended and the local police have urged people to avoid the area.
The incident is still under investigation, though preliminary reports indicate that the explosion happened in a plastic bucket that had been placed on the train.
According to reports, several people suffered facial burns and others were injured from the rush of passengers fleeing the scene.
British Prime Minister Theresa May said, “My thoughts are with those injured at Parsons Green and the emergency services who, once again, are responding swiftly and bravely to a suspected terrorist incident.”
