The lawyer of one of the complainants against Brig. Gen. Ofek Buchris is claiming that the senior level officer changed his story during a confrontation with his client. Brig. Gen. Ofek Buchris changed his story during a confrontation with one of the complainants against him, according to the complainant’s lawyer, Guy Flanter. “During the confrontation, he abandoned his first version,” said Flanter tonight (Tuesday) during a televised interview.
“In the beginning of the investigation, my client was told that Buchris claimed the two got carried away and that he told my client that it would never happen again,” claimed Flanter. “He abandoned this version during the confrontation and claimed that she had forced herself on him.”
Flanter added that his client left the confrontation with a good feeling and that she bravely confronted the senior level officer: “She bombarded him with questions such as, ‘How can a commander invite himself over to the home of his female subordinate?’”
Buchris’s attorney stated in response: “Brig. Gen. Ofek Buchris completely denies the complainant’s claims, just as he did throughout the confrontation. We strongly condemn those who are willing to severely damage the investigation in order to create a false spin and unlawful pressure on the decision-makers.”
