Last week, a 16-year-old girl in her third month of pregnancy was fatally shot by police. The incident occurred in California after police attempted to arrest the girl and her partner, suspected of several robberies in the city of Freemont.

According to the police, Elena Mondragon was in a stolen car with her boyfriend. When police attempted to stop them, the couple hit several patrol cars and tried to get away. Local police opened fire at the driver but fatally wounded the girl, who was sitting in the passenger seat.

Mondragon’s family members stated that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. However, they expressed their anger at the police who, according to them, opened fire too quickly.
