Less than a day after the bodies of Jewish billionaire Barry Sherman and his wife were found in Toronto, local police revealed that the case is being investigated as a murder-suicide. A police source told the Canadian Globe newspaper that the Apotex CEO apparently murdered his wife and then killed himself.

Canadian police suspect that Jewish billionaire Barry Sherman murdered his wife, Honey, and then committed suicide, the Globe reported on Saturday, citing a source from the Toronto Police Services. The source told the Canadian newspaper that the case is being investigated as a murder-suicide.

The two were found dead at their residence in Toronto. As reported earlier by JOL News, police officer David Hopkinson said that “the circumstances of their death appear suspicious and we are treating it that way.” It was also reported that there was no sign of forced entry at the scene.

“Sophie and I are saddened by news of the sudden passing of Barry and Honey Sherman,” Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wrote on Twitter. “Our condolences to their family & friends, and to everyone touched by their vision & spirit.” Barry Sherman was the CEO of Apotex, Canada’s largest pharmaceutical company.
