The Israel Police arrested six retirement home caregivers in central Israel for suspected abuse. The caregivers are suspected to have used violence against seniors in their care, including hair pulling and throwing pillows and diapers.
In an undercover operation within several retirement homes, Israel Police said it exposed violent behavior “that does not suit the conduct expected of those who work with senior populations, including mentally frail people.” Police say they found evidence of caregivers hitting a senior woman’s face, hitting another in the leg, throwing bedding and towels and pulling a woman’s hair to move her from a wheelchair to a bed.
