Three Israeli backpackers became stranded on a Puyehue National Park mountainside in Chile upon nightfall. Local rescue workers arrived after hearing calls of distress and began air and ground rescue operations. They were rescued by a helicopter and are in good health.

Three Israeli backpackers were rescued after becoming stranded on a mountainside in Chile’s Puyehue National Park while hiking. As night began to fall, local rescue efforts immediately commenced upon hearing the backpackers’ call for help. Two of the travelers were rescued after several hours and brought to a hostel. The third Israeli was also rescued by a helicopter.
The rescue unit included six rescuers, three of whom are members of Harel’s rescue staff and three from the Magnus search and rescue company. The rescuers operated from the air and ground in cooperation with the Israeli Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The Puyehue National Park is located in the Andes mountain range in the southern part of Chile. It is the most visited national park in the country, with hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.
