After footage of Clinton nearly collapsing on the way to her car was published yesterday, the Democratic candidate’s doctor issued an announcement according to which she suffers from pneumonia and is recovering nicely. But the latest “medical incident” may still have serious political implications for Clinton, as Trump looks to capitalize on the issue.
For an hour and a half yesterday (Sunday), media outlets across the world tried to understand what exactly happened to Hillary Clinton. The Democratic presidential candidate’s camp remained unusually silent following the incident and Clinton could have perhaps come out of it without any real damage if it weren’t for the release of a video documenting the incident in which she nearly collapsed. Meanwhile, the medical team treating Clinton tried to reassure the public: “She has pneumonia. She is recovering nicely.”
Several hours after the footage of Clinton barely walking to her car was released, her campaign team published an announcement according to which she had been diagnosed with pneumonia as early as last Friday, adding that she has canceled her planned visit to California and that her attendance at other campaign events planned to take place in the coming days is also in question.

According to an announcement published by her doctor, Dr. Lisa R. Bardack, Clinton received antibiotics and was asked to rest and reduce her workload. “I have just examined her and she is now rehydrated and recovering nicely,” Bardack assured.
Clinton’s “medical incident” couldn’t come at a worse time for the Democratic candidate. Trump and his supporters have been warning voters about Clinton’s health situation for many weeks and the discussion about her medical condition has gained momentum in the last week after a speech of hers was cut short by an uncontrollable coughing fit. The two incidents combined have brought Clinton’s health to the fore and the estimation is that this time she will have to seriously and extensively address the issue and prove that she is physically fit to serve as president.

Trump has yet to address the latest incident publically, most likely due to the fact that it occurred during the 15th Memorial Day for the victims of the September 11 terror attacks but the estimation is that he is yet to capitalize on the issue.
