New alarming intelligence published by CNN reveals that terrorist organizations have found a way to bypass airport security systems in order to hide explosive devices inside laptops. The information was uncovered two weeks after prohibiting laptops on flights to the US from several countries was announced.

According to a CNN report, the American intelligence community believes that ISIS and other terrorist organizations have successfully developed a way to implant and transfer explosives inside electronic devices and pass through airport security undetected.
Based on the intelligence received, it is feared that sophisticated security equipment has been obtained by terrorist organizations, which they plan to use in airports within Western countries. Utilizing this equipment, the terrorists are efficiently able to check or hide the explosives without being detected and, most likely, that is why bringing electronic devices larger than a telephone in a passenger’s carry-on was prohibited two weeks ago for those flying directly to the US.

Throughout the US, the new evidence has some questioning if this broad restriction is sufficient or if it should be expanded to include cellphones and even smaller electronic devices, as the FBI has determined that the type of bombs that can be implanted into electronic devices will be much harder to identify in a security check when compared with other explosives that have been in the hands of terrorist organizations up until now.
“As a matter of policy, we do not publicly discuss specific intelligence information,” the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement following the CNN report. “However, evaluated intelligence indicates that terrorist groups continue to target commercial aviation, to include smuggling explosive devices and electronics. The US government continually re-assesses existing intelligence and collects new intelligence.”
