A giant crane collapsed in the middle of Bat Yam today, injuring four people including the crane operator and a 9-year-old girl. It is still unclear what caused the crane to collapse.

Four people were injured on Monday by a crane that collapsed in Bat Yam. The giant crane was being used by construction workers and collapsed for an unknown reason onto a nearby road. The crane collapsed onto a car, moderately injuring the driver. The crane operator was also injured.
Magen David Adom paramedics treated the four injured people at the scene and then transferred them to a Tel Aviv hospital. The crane operator was seriously injured. A 38-year-old man was moderately injured when the crane crushed his car. The two others, a 49-year-old father and his 9-year-old daughter, were slightly injured.

It is still unclear what caused the crane to collapse but according to the initial investigation, the weather was not a factor. The various meteorological stations in the area indicated that the winds at the time of the accident did not exceed 15 kilometers per hour and that it was not raining.
