The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit revealed late Sunday night that a drone that infiltrated Israeli territory from Gaza a few days ago was equipped with explosives.

The drone entered Israeli airspace near the northern region of the Gaza border and landed in the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council, Hadashot news reported last Tuesday. The explosives did not detonate and there were no reports of damage or casualties. Israeli security forces collected the aircraft for inspection and opened an investigation into the incident.

Earlier on Sunday, the IDF spokesperson announced that Israeli fighter jets attacked Hamas targets in the southern Gaza Strip early Sunday morning in response to several infiltration attempts.

Later that day, three Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists were eliminated by the Israeli army in an attack on an observation post manned by the terrorist group. The post was targeted in response to a bomb that was planted near the border fence on Saturday evening.
