No injury or damage was reported as a 5.6-magnitude earthquake off the shores of Crete was felt in Israel.

An earthquake off the shores of Crete on Wednesday was felt in some parts of Israel. Police said there were no reports of injury or damage.

The Geophysical Institute of Israel has stated that the 5.6-magnitude earthquake in Crete occurred at 8:50 p.m. off its eastern shores.

In May 2016, a 4.8-magnitude earthquake which originated in Egypt was felt in Israel’s southern city of Eilat.
