The Kirya military court will sentence Elor Azaria, who has been convicted of manslaughter for shooting a neutralized terrorist in Hebron, on February 21. During the sentencing hearings, the prosecution requested that Azaria serve a sentence of 3-5 years in prison. In addition, the prosecution requested that Azaria’s military rank be lowered to private and that his 10 months of house arrest not be deducted from the sentence.
During a sentencing hearing that took place on Tuesday of last week, the prosecution requested that Azaria serve no less than three years for the manslaughter charge. Earlier, Azaria’s relatives verbally attacked the Kfir Brigade Commander who testified. The soldier’s father shouted at the commander: “You are a liar. Take off the uniform you are wearing.”
