33-year-old Eric Trump, one of U.S. President Donald Trump’s sons, said he is “sure” that his sister Ivanka influenced their father’s decision to attack an airbase in Syria, a step that considerably increased the tensions between Moscow and Washington.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Eric claimed that his sister, who has a very close relationship with their father, was disgusted by the pictures from Idlib that were published on social media and by media outlets following the chemical attack. “Ivanka is a mother of three kids and she has influence,” Eric said. “I’m sure she said: ‘Listen, this is horrible stuff.’”

“My father will act in times like that,” he continued. “And by the way, he was anti doing anything with Syria two years ago. Then a leader gasses their own people, women and children. At some point America is the global leader and the world’s superpower has to come forward and act and they did with a lot of support of our allies and I think that’s a great thing.”
While Eric is not part of his father’s administration, Ivanka received an office in the White House recently and is considered very involved in White House affairs. Her husband Jared Kushner is a senior adviser to Trump and has considerable influence on the decision-making process in the White House. “I stay out of politics and I stay out of the administration but you can tell he was deeply affected by those images of the children,” Eric added.
