Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is suspected of receiving expensive cigars from Arnon Milchan, a successful businessman, Channel 2 News revealed on Thursday. Apart from these allegations, Netanyahu is being questioned in a second corruption case, which police have described as “heavy” and whose details have not been published yet.

According to the report, Milchan, a Hollywood producer and a close friend of the Netanyahu family, gave the Prime Minister the cigars, which he ordered personally, over a period of about eight years. Overall, Netanyahu received hundreds of thousands of shekels’ worth of cigars.

In addition, the Prime Minister’s wife, Sara, has allegedly been given bottles of rosé champagne by Milchan, worth approximately 300 shekels apiece.

The report also states that Netanyahu is known as a lover of cigars, and that his smokes tens of thousands of shekels’ worth of cigars every month.

Sources close to Netanyahu have claimed that both the cigars and the champagne were personal gifts from a friend, unrelated to Netanyahu’s public status.
