At least 11 people were killed and dozens were wounded in a series of explosions at a storage facility in the Hama military airbase in Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor reported on Friday. In addition, some people have been reported missing.
Five explosions were observed, likely in fuel and arms depots, apparently destroying all the missiles brought by an Iranian airliner after the attack attributed to Israel on Iranian military positions in Syria earlier this month.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the cause of the blasts is currently unknown.
Syrian state media reported earlier that sounds of explosions were heard near the airport but gave no further details about the incident.
