The Knesset will vote on a bill, sponsored by Moti Yogev, of the Habait Hayehudi party that would allow the Israel Defense Forces to expel from the West Bank region family members of those terrorists who have committed an attack.

Yogev said this bill is necessary because the legal system works slowly in enforcing the law against terrorists and especially when it comes to punishing them.

The bill is intended to add a deterrent element that could prevent future attacks. “Palestinian terror must be stopped,” he said. “Participating in a terrorist attack against Jews is profitable for terrorists and their families. They kill and earn wages and subsidies. Palestinian terrorists must understand that violence is not beneficial.

The current law only allows the expulsion of family members of terrorists if they present a clear danger to the public, which is very difficult to prove.
