The two SOS Children’s Villages in Israel care for children who have been removed from their homes by the social authorities. By giving a monthly donation to the children’s villages, you can take part in ensuring that these children receive the necessary care in every possible way.
Behind the tough face of Israeli actor Yaakov Zada-Daniel (Fauda) lies an inspiring story. His mother died when he was two, and his father, who had difficulty raising four children alone, sent him and his sisters to SOS Children’s Village Neradim in Arad.
Now he is going back to the beginning and to the only home he knew. This week, a fundraising campaign is underway to raise awareness of the two SOS Children’s Villages operating in Israel, “Neradim” in Arad and “Megadim” in Migdal Ha’Emek. Ya’akov heads the campaign and stars in the video that promotes it, “He is the pride of our village and an example of success,” Nelly Geva, the association’s director, stated.
Neradim Children’s Village was established in 1981 by a group of volunteers, headed by Dr. Moshe Kurtz, and SOS Children’s Villages International, which runs children’s villages in 135 countries across the world. All the villages are based on the organization’s successful model.
There are houses that simulate a home and a family model that includes a mother and up to eight children in each home, with educators and caregivers. The village cares for children who have been removed from their homes by the social authorities and court orders after the decision has been made that the children cannot stay with their biological parents. The reasons for their removal from the home vary and are often related to their parents’ prostitution, drug and alcohol offenses.
“When I was three years old, I came with my three older sisters, Miriam, Sarit and Orgat to the children’s village, where I grew up until I enlisted,” recalled Zada-Daniel, “the age between 3 and 18 is the basis for life, I got that basis here in Neradim. “
Your partnership is their success!
By giving a monthly donation to the children’s villages, you can take part in ensuring that the children receive the necessary care in every possible way – emotionally, physically and academically. As partners, you will change these children’s futures.
We promise to share with you the different activities that take place in the village and the development of the children through a newsletter that we will send out twice a year, and of course, you are welcome to visit the village.
This year, with the generous support of a company that strengthens and renovates properties in accordance with “Tama 38” – the National Outline Plan, we will be able to increase your monthly contribution by 10ILS per month for a whole year!!
The company’s directors – Avi Papir and Liran Sorek – are among the members of the group “Angels of Snir,” an association of public opinion leaders who operate on a daily basis to help others and Israeli society as a whole.
