Former CIA Director John Brennan harshly criticized US President Donald Trump following his visit to the agency’s headquarters yesterday (Saturday). “Former CIA Director Brennan is deeply saddened and angered at Donald Trump’s despicable display of self-aggrandizement in front of CIA’s Memorial Wall of Agency heroes,” Brennan’s former deputy chief of staff, Nick Shapiro, said in a statement.
Trump was warmly greeted by the CIA employees who volunteered to watch his address. Trump’s visit was supposed to ease the tensions between him and the intelligence community. During his speech, Trump attacked the media for its coverage of his inauguration. “They are among the most dishonest people on earth,” Trump said. Trump also said that reporters made up the tensions between him and the intelligence community: “They made it sound like I had a feud with the intelligence people.”

“Brennan says that Trump should be ashamed of himself,” Shapiro concluded.
