Itay Darchi, a former security guard employed by the Ministry of Defense, was arrested earlier this month and accused of sexually assaulting several young girls. Yesterday (Wednesday), a serious indictment was filled against him. According to the indictment, he allegedly “continually performed acts of sexual assault” and even documented them.
The Southern District Prosecution is claiming that the ex-security guard, who today is employed in a Hi-Tech company in Southern Israel, “hunted young girls” ages 6-10 for more than 2 years.
The harshest offences he is accused of occurred near schools in Beersheva and Rishon Le’Zion, when he would introduce himself to his victims by saying that he was a new teacher and having trouble locating the school. After that, he would convince the girls to allow him to touch them in intimate places. According to the indictment, he didn’t just perform the sexual acts but documented them with his phone, without the knowledge or consent of the young girls. Approximately 600 video clips and 18,000 photos were discovered on his personal computer.
